What an amazing summer of firsts!
- I co-organized the Agile Denver – Mile High 2024 Reboot Conference
- I spoke in person internationally at DevConf.cz 2024
- I earned my first Kanban certification
- I finally got to attend a Women in Agile conference in person (finally)
- I attended my second Agile 20xx conference.
- I cooked my first sou vide recipe
MHA – I spent from last October till May prepping, stressing and eventually successfully producing MHA 2024 ( https://www.agiledenver.org/mile-high-agile/ ). Wow! What a rush! Bringing my favorite type of folks together – agilists – for an opportunity to connect, learn, teach and more!
DevConf – I spent from last year through June finding a topic that spoke enough to me to want to bring with others. That is always the bit the gets me- do I feel strong enough to want to share? My co-speaker and I submitted.
We had done a first run of the topic in February at Agile Santa Barbara. We re-worked it, submitted, re-worked it and as would happen re-worked it just days before presenting at DevConf.cz ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C929BKiJZ-M ). We had a great time, our coworkers and folks we respected were in the audience to cheer us on. What a rush!
Having the opportunity to connect, see, hug, and share with folks that have been in my life for years in only a 2D manner, now finally in RL and 3D was beyond a rewarding opportunity!
ProKanban – I had wanted to expand my expertise to something more! I wanted to have more specifics on metrics, and decided to get certified in the Kanban arena. My dear friend Anjali Leon along with April Jefferson “Soul Craftswoman” (who if she doesn’t know is now a dear friend) taught an amazing that got me pumped with knowledge and tools and able to pass the certification test! Metrics here I come!
Women in Agile and Agile 2024. Oooh, all the peopling!
It was a treat to finally see a room full of powerful, amazing women! Key noted by the Lyssa Atkins, great talks and networking rounded out by some amazing Leading New Voices gals. Then onto 5 more days of drinking through a fire hose, seeing old friends, meeting some of my heros!
Finally – I have wanted to branch out and try Starbucks egg bites – diy – for – well since I tried my first one… Finally I received a sous vie machine and knew it was time ( https://lazybearfoods.com/2024/07/copy-cat-egg-bites/ ). Can’t say it was exactly like what Starbucks serves, but I’m pretty thrilled at the results. And hooked!
Lots of other small and big things…. But wow! Hello Summer!
