Finally got out of the house this weekend after a frigid week.
We had spikes, but no snow shoes and it worked out fantastic. We took the Mason Creek Trail till it hit the Catamount Overlook trail. 2.5 miles one way was all I agreed to do, so we put on our spikes and went back down!
It was beautiful, the snow was crystal clear and went on for as far as the eyes could see.

Such a beautiful day, we got there around 9, took our time and finished around noon.
Verdict: winter is a great time for this trail. The up seems so much less terrible!
