Make your own slaw

During the week of st patrick’s day i decided that a 49 cent head of cabbage was cheaper than a bag-o-slaw, so i figured i’d give it a try. I cut the head of lettuce as best i could and stuffed it into the food processor slot and got: It worked ok, but i only got little ity bity chopped up peices, not the nice “strings” you get in the bags, and it smelled a bit funny. 49 cents is a good deal, and i guess at that price you can experiment till you get it the consistency desired… But all in all, bag-o-slaw is my preferred type of cabbage!
