New exercises!

As some of you know I started my new – I’ll not call it a diet, but a lifestyle – on spark people at the end of july. I’ve been rather successful so far. Well, I feel successful. 10 down, 20 to go! Anyhoo. We also started at a new gym across the street.

Part of their program is a class called CrossFit. It’s a crazy, always changing, hard, and difficult but fun class. One example – we did cycles of 5 pullups, 10 pushups, 20 squats in a minute, for 30 minutes on-going. As we got tired we cut down the reps.  I was super sore that next day. Lordie!

 

Monday we did a series called the fabulous 50’s

50 jumps up to metal steps

50 jumping pullups on rings

50 dumb-bell tosses – squat using momentum moving the weight up over the head

50 walking lunges

50 barbell presses

50 good mornings (bending at waist, standing up)

50 burpees (squat, jump back, pushup, jump back, jump up clap over head)

50 medicine ball tosses with a squat

50 double jump ropes (or jumps)

50 knees to elbows (or boat pose, move knees in and out)

 

It was a pretty good work out and pretty tireing. I look forward to being able to do all those, but better and stronger! I had to do modified pushups, and I only did step ups not jumps!

 

Tomorrow is another workout and I’m excited to see what is to come!
