Weekend of Luxury

Hubby and I spent the weekend before our anniversary at the Broadmoor! Quite the extravagant expenditure!

We booked a romantic getaway! Decided it was probably the only time we would do that kind of pricy thing! When we arrived they were very nice, kept using our names and just made us feel pretty darn important!! The front desk fella said we were all set, our room was ready with 2 double beds. HUNH? I did a double take. I said – how bout a king? He asked if we had reserved a king? I was like….  Well, we booked a romantic weekend getaway…  He said – ah…  yeah that is kinda weird…  So he made some calls and unfortunately hey were forced to upgrade us to a suite! Ahhh…  the unfortunate things in life!

The room was very nice! We had our own sitting room which was about the size of some of the rooms I have stayed in at other hotels! The bed was huge and a long way off the ground! Even hubby had to hop up! The bathroom was exotic! Our wet bar area was spiffy too! We were very pleased!

That night we had an included dinner at one of their fine establishments. We chose Summit.

It was really yummy! I had the lobster salad, hubby had the crab wings. For dinner, I went with the scallops with fios gois on top! Soooo delicious!  Desert they brought us the molded chocolate cake. They all greeted us by name and congratulated us on our anniversary! How did I love that?

We had a really ncie bottle of wine – we stayed local to Colorado – A Merlot from Sut Cliffe Winery!

Funny thing – logo is another crayon house like our other favorite wine!

We had some quiet time and hit the hay early! We certainly are party animals!

Next morning we had reservation at the Lake Terrace Restaurant. Buffet brunch!

Again everyone knew our name, congratulated us, and treated us great!

The brunch was ok. After having experienced the Inverness Buffet this just didn’t make the cut. I expected much more. The cornbeef has was ok, crepes needed nutells, torelini was anh…  Fruit was fresh, colorful and yummy!  Eggs benedict was tasty. And the desert they brought us was rich and delicious!

It was lovely getaway and we had a nice time being together!
