Hubby and I found this in an old cookbook that he had received from mom-in-law when he got his first house!
We love it so much, we usually double it and save some for dipping the cooked meat!
It is super duper yummy and you can kick up the spice by adding more of the hot sauce! Enjoy!
We have used it on chicken too and that comes out well!
Hot and Spicy Flank Steak
1/4 cup veg oil
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons sherry
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
1 1/2 – 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon Lawry’s Garlic Powder with Parsley
1 1/2 pound flank steak, scored across the grain on both sides
In large resalable plastic food storage bag, combine all ingredients except steak. Mix well. Remove 1/4 cup marinade for basting. Add steak; seal bag. Marinate in refrigerator at least 1 hour. Remove steak from marinade, discard marinade. Grill or broil steak until desired doneness, about 10-12 minutes, turning once and basting often with additional 1/4 cup marinade.
Do not baste during last 5 minutes of cooking. Discard any remaining marinade. Thinly slice steak on diagonal across the grain.
-I usually double the marinade, and I made it in a bowl – easier to whisk!
– We usually keep some reserve for dipping as well
– I use a tupperware marinador that keeps the marinade flowing under the meat or i use my food saver container that sucks all the air out so the marinade is forced into the meat!
– We marinade for 4-6 hours.
Sounds terrific! Gotta try it!
Love you,
mom
